Class 3 - Year 3/4

Welcome to Class 3- Year 3

RW

Hello! My name is Miss Wells. I teach Class 3, which consists of children in Year 3. In the mornings, we are supported by Mrs Pakeman.

This half term, our topic is 1066 and The Battle of Hastings. We will be learning all about what happened in 1066 and how it changed Great Britain forever! To enhance our learning, we will be enjoying a trip to Warwick Castle to learn more about the Normans.

The curriculum in Class 3 will continue to develop children's skills, knowledge, and understanding across all subjects. The core elements of their learning are centered around English, maths, science, and RE. Excellent progress in these areas will provide a strong foundation for development in other areas. You can find a copy of our weekly timetable below.

This year, some of our year 3 children are preparing for their Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist (First Holy Communion).

I very much look forward to the year ahead and to working with parents/carers and our pupils to make this a very special year at St Mary's.

General reminders:

PE: Children in Class 3 have PE on Mondays and Tuesdays. They should come to school in their labeled PE uniform on these days, without earrings or jewelry.

Homework: Homework is set on a Friday and returned the following Thursday.

Spelling tests: Spellings are sent home on Friday and tested the following Thursday.

Times tables: Times tables are imperative in KS2 and should be practiced regularly both in school and at home. Please contact the school if you misplace your child's Times Table Rockstar information.
