SEND

St Mary's is an inclusive Catholic Primary School, we believe that every pupil has an entitlement to develop their talents, skills and strive for excellence in their learning irrespective of any differences.  All children learn in a warm and nurturing environment that enables them to make good progress, achieve high standards academically and to develop and mature into young people who are ready to take their place in the world and achieve their full potential.

Some children will need additional support to help them achieve and progress. We ensure that all children are given the help and support they need to learn. The help given will vary depending on the individual needs of each child. It may be support to develop academically, emotionally, socially or physically. Most of this support will happen naturally in the classroom environment and will be organised by the class teacher.

Any children that may have more specific or complex needs and need a little more support or something more personalised to help their learning. In this case a child will be identified as having a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND). This means that their learning and support will be overseen by Mrs Morrow who is our school SENDCO.
