Hello! My name is Miss Wells. I teach Class 3 which consists of children in Year 3 and Year 4 with support from Mrs Bond.
This term, our topic is Mountains and Rivers. We will be learning all about famous rivers and mountains, their features and the continents and countries they can be found in. We will be learning about how rivers and mountains impact humans and how humans have used them throughout history. We will be learning about famous explorers of mountains and rivers, such as Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay and their historical summit of Mt. Everest.
The curriculum in Class 3 will continue to develop children's skills, knowledge and understanding across all subjects. The core elements of their learning are centred around English, maths, science and RE. Excellent progress in these areas will provide a strong foundation for development in other areas. You can find a copy of our weekly timetable under 'Class 3 Admin'.
This year, some of our year 3 children are preparing for their Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist (First Holy Communion). Our year 4 children are continuing to grow and progress in their journey as children of God.
I very much look forward to the year ahead and to working with parents/carers and our pupils to make this a very special year at St Mary's.
